Let’s say you’re buying something and made it to the Order Review step, you’re ready to hit the Place Order button, and you realize that you messed up your address, or your card expiration date.

What do you do?

Most stores force you to go back to one of the previous steps to change that information, then move forward again to the next steps to finally place your order. According to Baymard, that’s the case for 68% of stores.

Quite frustrating!


A more elegant solution

I think a much more elegant solution that creates a lot less friction is to have the ability to edit all the information you entered, directly from the last step (Order Review).

Each information group (email, delivery address, delivery options, billing address, payment info) should have its own Change button or link.
