GridView layout
This recommendation applies to a Grid View layout, which is most relevant for very visual products without a lot of specs (e.g. clothing and apparel).
- If your products are in-between those two extremes, you could give the option to users to switch view between Grid and List.
- On mobile, you can typically fit two products per row, but depending on how much details each product contains, you may want to keep it to a single item per row.
- A List View (one product per row) is recommended for more technical products.
On desktop
On desktop (on a 22″ screen), it’s good to note that many of the big brands I looked at choose to display 4 or 5 products per row:

Consistent layout
Interestingly, B&H and Crutchfield have a consistent layout on both desktop and mobile, with 1 product per row on both devices.
